About The Scrap

The Scrap was a small wood structure used for storage and by visiting relatives. The original Scrap does not exist today but, in 2011, a new custom-made facility was constructed to replicate the late 19th century structures on the homestead. The shed is designed to match the style of the main house and has cypress board and batten siding and exposed rafter tails. The front design includes a custom Dutch door and lattice details taken from extant buildings on the property. Salvaged historic windows were also used for the Scrap.
