About The Cuckoo

The Cuckoo is a long, narrow 24’ x 12’ room used as a bedroom that was designed by Julia Daniels Moseley and was the first structure built as part of the new Nest in the 1886, following a devastating fire that burned down the Moseley’s first log cabin on the property. A bathroom called Falling Waters was added in the 1940s to the southwest corner of this structure. The Cuckoo is connected to the main structure by a large covered patio and hall or breezeway.
