About Charles Scott Moseley

When Charles Scott Moseley was born on February 28, 1828, in Westfield, Massachusetts, his father, Seth, was 23 and his mother, Naomi, was 22. His first marriage was to Mary Josephine Gragg and they had two children together. Mary died at 31, and Scott then married Julia Isabell Daniels and they had two children together, Carl and Hallock. 

Charles was a wealthy watchmaker with the Elgin plant in Illinois, where he had a 40-year career as First Superintendent. He was an early settler to the town of Limona, moving there is 1882 with Julia and their son, Carl “Karl” Moseley, and his children, Florence “Frindy” Moseley and Claude Moseley. He was born February 28, 1828 in Westfield, Massachusetts and died November 17, 1918 in Limona, Florida at age 90. A full ledger slab of marble with inscription marking his grave can be found at the historic Limona Cemetery in Brandon, Florida where he is buried next to his wife Julia and family.
